The Arab & The Jew

We have seen our fathers shouting and waving their arms in the air. We have watched from a distance and hidden from the news...

Allel Nedjari and Amit Lahav are Gecko. Growing up on opposite sides of the Arab-Israeli divide, together they celebrate their brotherhood and laugh and cry at their reflections. Following the multiple-award winning Taylor's Dummies and The Race, The Arab & The Jew is both a riot of sound, image and movement and an ambitious dance of reason and reconciliation — performed with Gecko's characteristic exuberance and physical skill.

‘Lahav and Nedjari are a wonderful team, slipping from implied brotherhood to bitter antagonism and back again… Well worth seeing.’ The Times

‘A bleakly funny, brutally painful comedy. Imagine Newsnight performed by The Marx Brothers and script-edited by Beckett.’ Evening Standard
