Elegy
Created by Amici Dance Theatre Company
Six mothers have lost their children. As tales of drug abuse, honour killing, homelessness, illegal immigration and prostitution emerge at the inquest into their children’s deaths, they ask, could they have been prevented?
This thought-provoking and beautiful piece fuses music, dance and text.
The Lyric’s resident dance theatre company, Amici integrate disabled and non-disabled performers to challenge conventional attitudes to disability and the arts. In Elegy, director Wolfgang Stange collaborates with Julian Crouch of Improbable and playwright Julia Pascal to create images and stories that will strike you in the instant and linger in your mind.
