Metamorphosis Meet the Company
Metamorphosis sees Kafka’s terrifying but painfully funny tale burst onto the stage in an explosively theatrical new version adapted and directed by David Farr and Gísli Örn Gardarsson.
Hosted by the directors alongside members of the cast, this post-show Q&A is an opportunity for audiences to explore the creative process behind the making of this brand new Lyric production. Find out what’s involved with adapting Kafka’s novel for the stage, how Gregor’s transformation into a giant insect is portrayed, and how this production uses physicality such as aerial trapeze work and climbing to convey the story of Metamorphosis.
David Farr is the Artistic Director of the Lyric whose recent directorial credits include The UN Inspector, The Odyssey and Tamburlaine. Gísli Örn Gardarsson is the Artistic Director of Iceland’s Vesturport Theatre, whose recent highly acclaimed productions include Woyzeck (Barbican) and Romeo and Juliet (Young Vic).
The Q&A is free with a ticket to the evening performance of Metamorphosis on 30 September 2006.
