The success of our projects is largely dependent on the success of our partnerships with agencies that work with young people.

Recruitment for many of the projects included in the Lyric West programme is via referrals from agencies and schools in West London (boroughs listed below), who we remain in close contact with throughout the project.

Who do we work with?
Agencies we work with regularly include: Connexions, Youth Offending Teams, Pupil Referral Units, Leaving Care Teams, Schools and Youth Clubs. We are constantly looking to develop new relationships across West London with agencies catering for young people with a range of needs.

How do we work?
Projects engage with participants in a variety of ways using a variety of artforms, from street dance, poetry and lyrics to drama and singing. We work with range of young people from gifted and talented students and budding performers, to young people with complex needs and self-esteem issues, to those who are not in employment, education or training (NEET) or are at risk of becoming NEET.

What benefits do we offer?
Many of the projects give young people the opportunity to work towards achieving a nationally recognised qualification, performing on stage or learning new skills. The programme also aims to provide young people with a ‘ladder of opportunity’, enabling participants to continue to develop their skills by participating in a variety of projects over time – whether these are ‘soft’ skills such as increased confidence and self-esteem or more ‘hard’ outcomes such as qualifications.
