What's Next for the Lyric

We are now at a defining moment in our history as we prepare to lead the largest capital development to take place in West London for many years.

Our £13.5million project, due to break ground in January 2012, will double the size of the existing theatre facilities in order to transform the Lyric into a new type of cultural and educational building.

Modelled as the first ‘teaching theatre’ for the performing arts, it will create a unique learning environment at the heart of a professional theatre in which artists, teachers and other young people’s professionals.

We are working with a project team led by the internationally acclaimed Architect, Rick Mather, who has most recently completed the £65m redevelopment of the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford. Other key consultants in the team are:

Contractors: Mace Plus
Quantity Surveyors: Jones Lang LaSalle
Structural Engineers: Pell Frischmann
Service Engineers: Mott MacDonald
Sustainability Consultants: Rickaby Thompson
Accessibility Consultants: David Bonnett Associates
Theatre Consultants: Charcoal Blue
Contractual Services: Ashurt LLP
Legal Advisors: Farrer and Co
