We are proud to be one of the UK’s leading producing theatres, creating shows across our Main House and Studio spaces for a wide variety of audiences including traditional and emerging, our local community, families and young people.

During our hundred year history we have welcomed some of the world's finest writers, directors and actors to our stages. The Lyric is about opportunity, collaboration and the exploration of everything new. Through our association with the best contemporary theatre companies, leading artists and creative minds we have, over time, developed a reputation for producing work that is exciting, provoking and, above all, something for everyone to enjoy.

Revival is very much at the heart of the Lyric and following his appointment as Artistic Director in 2009, Sean Holmes (download Sean's biog below) has embraced and celebrated the beauty of our proscenium theatre. We have seen the rebirth of traditional family panto, jumped out of our seats at the thrills and spills of populist work, looked forward to bringing the next big musical to Hammersmith, welcomed the return of popular comedy nights and revisited classic plays both modern and traditional.
